Garmin’s K collars use a licence-free radio frequency, not mobile service. As a result, they keep working deep in the forest where phones fail. The Alpha 300 K and T 20 K track up to 20 dogs within 10 km and update every 5 seconds.
Important: K collars only pair with K handhelds and Atemos devices. US models (TT25, T20 or Alpha 300 without the K) use other frequencies.

US models use different radio frequencies and do not pair with K devices. For Germany, Garmin makes the K versions such as the Alpha 300 K and T 20 K, which run on a licence-free frequency with no registration needed.
The Alpha 300 K and T 20 K track dogs up to 10 km away, with position updates every 5 seconds. Range is shorter in hilly terrain and dense forest.
No. Tracking with Alpha K handhelds works without a plan. However, inReach messaging and SOS on the Alpha 300i K, and LTE tracking on the Alpha LTE, need an active subscription.
